Jack Pacente

Vice President of Sustainability

As Vice President of Global Sustainability, Jack Pacente oversees Plastipak’s overarching sustainability strategy. In line with the company’s long-standing focus on environmental preservation, Jack leads Plastipak’s work in recycling education, responsible packaging design, and low-carbon production.

As part of his role, Jack manages Plastipak’s emissions reduction, clean and green energy use, water stewardship, and pellet loss prevention initiatives. In addition, Jack directs the company’s Sustainability Champions Program, a pillar of Plastipak’s community engagement efforts, and coordinates all environmental reporting and disclosures. He is also involved in policy as it relates to the plastic rigid container space.

Having worked with Plastipak for close to 40 years, Jack has experience at every level of the business. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, he began his career at Plastipak as a Marketing Representative. As he grew with the company, he took on a series of increasingly influential roles, including, most recently, Vice President and Global Category Manager, Cleaning and Automotive Products.

During his tenure, he has managed some of the company’s largest accounts across the U.S., Europe, Brazil, and Asia. He spearheaded Plastipak’s expansion into China and supervised business operations in that territory for five years.

An authority on corporate sustainability, Jack sits on the sustainability committees for the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR), the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), the Household and Commercial Products Association (HCPA), the National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition (NLCRC), and the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA). He is also involved with Friends of the Rouge, a nonprofit organization that aims to restore and protect the Rouge River in southeast Michigan.

Jack is married with three adult children and loves spending time with his family. An avid music fan, he enjoys performing with his band, golfing, and working out.
