How do I navigate through
the system?
There are buttons and menu trees, which enable you to move about
the system. Buttons are most commonly found in the job search functions.
Menu tress are commonly found when applying for a job or changing
your profile information.

You should not use
the browser buttons such as the browser back or forward buttons
as they may cause you to lose your data..
Navigating through the site.
There are four basic navigation tools available on
the site. At no time should you use your browser navigation buttons
such as the green back arrow button as data will be lost.
First, you can use the menu bar, which will change as you move
from page to page. The menu will show you the page you are on as
well as enable you to move backward or forward.

Second, you can use buttons located
on the bottom and sometimes the top of the page to move forward,
backward and save your data.

Third, you can use the navigation
pane to move to any tab.

Finally, on certain pages you can
simply click on the tabs to move from page to page.

If you sign in using a user name and
password you will also have a main menu, which will allow you
to search, apply or change your personal profile.

What if I do not have an email
address?
A: An e-mail address is required so that we can communicate with you
about your application. There are many sources for free e-mail accounts.
Use a search engine like Yahoo, Google, or others, to locate these services.

if I forget my password? How can I access my data again?

How can
I find a Job that best suits my interest?
A: Jobs can be filtered by position, experience such as executive,
entry level, experienced), by location or by work contract type (intern/co-op,
temporary or full time). To view all jobs, simply do not specify any
search criteria and select Start Search. You can also search by entering
key words e.g. Technician, Forklift, or Engineer.

How long
does the online application process take?
A: If
you are applying for the first time, or creating your candidate
profile you can expect the online process to take 15-45 minutes.
However, if you have your resume in an electronic form such as
MS Word, Excel, PDF you can upload it. To save you time, your resume
will automatically be entered/parsed into the application and you
will only need to review the data on each tab or container to ensure
the information uploaded correctly. It is very important you REVIEW
your data if you uploaded your resume. Make any necessary corrections
during your review.
However, after your profile has been created,
applying for a position only takes a moment. The application wizard
quickly walks you through your profile in case you have any changes,
and then you will just click the apply button to be considered
for the position.

How do
I fill out the online application using the application wizard?
A: The instructions on the Notes page of the
application wizard and subsequent pages explain how to complete
the individual sections. The information can be entered in any
order. Use the save button to store any data.
Please note that some answers are mandatory, those fields are
marked with an asterisk.

How do
I know that you have received my application?
A: A pop up window thanking you for your application will appear
after submission.
In addition, we will send a confirmation that we have received
your application to the e-mail address provided. This e-mail is
automatically generated and serves as confirmation that your application
has be submitted to our system.
If I
apply for more than one position, will I be considered for both?
A: Yes, you will be considered for any position you apply for.

What
is the Plastipak Talent Pool and what benefits does it offer?
A: The Plastipak Talent Pool is a forum enabling you to submit
your own personal profile to Plastipak and keep it updated. It
is called your “candidate profile”. If we do advertise
a position requiring your qualifications, we will always have the
option of reviewing your profile and contacting you.

What
is a candidate profile?
A: “A Candidate Profile” is your online resume that
includes your qualifications, skills, education and career interests.
You can create and maintain your profile without actually applying
for a specific position. You only have to create your profile once.
The profile provides us with a snapshot of your background, which
we then refer to during candidate searches. Essentially, it’s
a great way to keep your career options open. A Candidate Profile
is like sending us your cover letter and resume for consideration
in the event of a suitable vacancy.

How
do I change or update my profile?
A: To change information stored in your profile, including personal
information and work history, log in to the recruitment system
using your User ID and password. Your changes will take effect
once you click the save button.
Please note that if you reload
your resume it will replace your old resume in the system.

What happens if I change my
candidate profile while an application is pending?
A: Any changes you make to your candidate profile will take immediate
effect and be incorporated into previous or pending applications.

When I try to register, I et
the message “This email address is already registered”
A: If this occurs you have already registered with us using this
email address. To resolve the problem, simply access the login
screen and click “Password Forgotten” and submit for
a new password using your e-mail address.
You will be able to reset
your password once it is reset.

Which
formats and what size documents can I upload?
A: You can use the standard Microsoft Office programs like Word,
PowerPoint and Excel. You can also upload files in the following
formats: Rich text format (rtf), plain text (.txt), Portable Document
Format (.PDF). Other file formats such as ZIP files cannot be processed.
Attachments must not exceed 10MB in size.

How
long will my data be stored?
A: Your data will be stored in our system for two years. If you
login and update your profile on a regular basis, you will remain
in the database. However, if a profile is not accessed for more
than two years, it is deleted.

Which
browsers are supported?
A: The recruitment system supports the following browsers: Internet
Explorer 5.0 and higher.
